In the 1950s, a group of men and boys from Wallace Presbyterian Church camped under the old-growth hemlock trees on what is now the paintball area. The towering Hemlock trees were a covering above and reminded them of God’s protective covering. They had a vision for a wilderness camping program devoted to winning and training young people for Christ. They purchased several parcels of land and named it Camp Hemlock after their protective trees with the intent of having a retreat from the busy world. These men had served and lived through the Second World War and saw the need for a place where individuals could come, quiet their hearts, rest in God’s creation, and develop a deeper relationship with Him. Brian Eisentraut Executive Director Brian became involved with Camp Hemlock as a young child when he first attended Stockade camp in 1983. He fell in love with the outdoor adventures and the fun junior staff. As a camper he participated in Stockade, Observer, and Battalion camps before completing the S.A.L.T. program. Brian served as junior staff, S.A.L.T. leader, and Program Director. He loved camp so much he proposed to his wife at the Rock Gardens. He returned to camp with his own children volunteering in every program they could do. Brian holds a BS in elementary education from the University of Maryland and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Previously he taught twenty-four years in the Howard County Public School System in Maryland. We aim to become your trusted Christian outdoor adventure camp that brings the message of salvation through Jesus Christ and encourages and mentors believers in their faith. We are an outdoor adventure camp where campers are surrounded by God’s creation and are away from the distractions of the modern world. We are a Christian camp where Jesus is preached every day. We strengthen the ministry of families, churches, and communities through Christian camping programs and activities that help people find and grow a relationship with God. We work to develop godly leaders among youth, through camping programs administered under the leadership of mature Christian examples. We give our guest groups outdoor adventures they could not have at home and exciting new experiences. We are a place where people build lifelong friendships. We value serving others. We serve youth and adults all year long.

This is a basic post, just trying this out to see how this will work. just continuing to type, another paragraph. This is a very small post!

This is kind of crazy – but this is my second post. And, well, its not going to be very long either. But, well, it is only for testing. The Phillies are looking pretty wimpy – not very promising!
