S.A.L.T. - Servant and Leadership Training

SALT (Servant And Leadership Training) is the counselor-in-training program at HWBC.  This three-week program is designed primarily for young men entering 9th grade in the fall.  SALT is for young men who aspire to leadership for Christ.  It is a physically, mentally, and spiritually demanding program that incorporates intense camping experiences and leadership skill development. Successful completion is a prerequisite for serving on staff.  The requirements for admission to the SALT program are:

• Completed CSB Achievement rank of Explorer before submitting application.
• A personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
• A desire to grow in Christ and serve Him, i.e., be ”the salt of the earth.”  Matthew 5:13.
• Completed 8th grade in school by camp time (ages 13-14 years)

The focus of this program is:

Trust-Service-Faith

This intensive three week program allows each boy to grow and become self-confident as well as develope an individual reliance on his Lord.

The program guides the boys to Trust their Lord, each other, and their leader. They will be physically challenged through outdoor adventures. They will provide Service for the camp by learning the ins and outs of our maintenance procedures. They will build their Faith through prayer and Bible study.
