What do I need to bring to camp?
Use this checklist to prepare for camp (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader - click here to download). Please mark all personal belongings with indelible ink or labels. Keep in mind that Camp Hemlock is located in the mountains. Cold and/or wet weather is always a possibility. Hiking boots or sturdy shoes may be helpful for Battalion and older Stockade campers who will be going on extended hikes during the week at camp. Also, a camp store is operated where snacks, camp sportswear, and other items can be purchased.
I would like to work for Camp Hemlock. What experience do you prefer potential counselors to have? How much do you pay your counselors? Who do I contact about being a counselor?
We require our counselors to behave in a manner becoming an individual who has a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We prefer our counselors to have had some experience with Christian Service Brigade, but that is not a prerequisite for being a counselor. Prior experience counseling or leading at other camps is not required. Camp Hemlock is a small non-profit Christian camp, so we do not pay our counselors with anything other than room and board (but the heavenly rewards are eternal!) Please visit our contact page for more information about volunteering.
Do you have any full time positions available at your camp?
We do not have any full time positions available at this time. If you are looking for a place to be involved in ministry full time, check out Christian Camp and Conference Association (CCCA).
Hemlock does need help though!
Email Chief (Mark Curran) for details.
