Camp Wildflowers Description

Wildflowers Camps

(completion of grades 3 - 8)

Camp provides girls with a unique opportunity to hear God's word and experience His work in their lives. Girls will enjoy a week at camp with an experienced staff of high school and collegiate young women. Girls will stay in cabins with Junior Staff and “Cabin Moms,” have meals in the dining hall, and enjoy a full range of activities such as Bible Exploration, archery, caving, canoeing, crafts, nature skills, riflery, and swimming.

All activities will be age appropriate and geared to girls. Those girls finishing grades 5-8 may enjoy an overnight trip, rappelling, outdoor cooking, and other challenging fun.

Girls finishing 8th grade will participate in L.A.C.E. (Leadership and Camping Experience). LACE offers girls a leadership related Bible Study, some service projects, team building, and a more challenging level of traditional camp activities.

This summer we are offering a Adventure LACE program for those girls who have completed grades 9-12! This will be similar to the basic LACE program but will include some more camping adventures! This camp will be offered during Wildflowers week B. Basic LACE is not a pre-requisite.

Dads, bring your little girl for three very special, memory-filled days together at the new Father & Daughter Mini-Camp! Dads will bunk in dad cabins and girls will bunk in fully staffed, girl cabins. You’ll enjoy all the traditional mini-camp activities side by side, smile by smile.

Each day ends with a devotional songfest around a campfire. The sound of girls giggling is contagious. The sound of girls voices singing together is the music of angels. The sound of girls praying together is a soothing fragrance raised to heaven.

Our goal is that the girls grow like “Wildflowers”. That they will realize they are planted and cared for by God, will grow strong in hard places, will bring beauty and refreshment to all those around them.

Wildflowers Camp Staff

(Completion of grades 9 & older)

All of our Wildflower Staff are extraordinary! Or, so it has seemed. They are, in fact, ordinary high school girls and moms who love and want to serve their Lord, Jesus Christ. But in this setting and with the Holy Spirit's leading, they become extraordinary women... leaders, friends, singers, pray-ers, sisters, mentors... all hand picked by God.

Any female, having completed grade 9 or older, interested in serving as staff should contact Joanne “Posie” Curran at (301) 349-5555, or mssposie@camphemlock.org.
